LowCVP's fifth annual conference 'Climate Change and Road Transport Policy: technology and consumer attitudes' takes place at the London Motor Show and will provide an unmissable forum for discussion of all the current key international, national and local policy issues involved in the shift to low carbon road transport.
Following a keynote speech from the Rt Hon Ruth Kelly Secretary of State for Transport, Kulveer Ranger, Boris Johnson's newly appointed Director of Transport Policy will present delegates with an exclusive insight into the Mayor's environmental transport plans for London.
Our line-up of top level speakers also includes:
Stephen Moser, Head of the European Commission's Clean Air and Transport Unit, on the hotly-debated topic of European 'Cars and CO2' regulation;
Professor Jim Skea, Head of UK Energy Research Centre (UKERC), who will unveil a new report on the most effective carbon reduction policies for road transport;
Professor Ed Gallagher, Chair, Renewable Fuels Agency on outcomes of the high profile Gallagher Review into the indirect effects of biofuels production;
Dr Jillian Anable of Aberdeen University and UKERC on the 'fuel economy paradox' - why people don't always act on their stated desire for fuel economy
and
Professor Julia King on the Government's response to the King Review of low carbon cars.
Join the BBC 'Question Time' style debate chaired by Ed Crooks, Energy Editor, Financial Times, with leading representatives of the Government and the motor and fuels industries, Green Party Mayoral candidate Sian Berry and Professor Julia King.
Plus all delegates are invited to an exclusive post-conference reception in the ‘Greener Driving Pavilion’ - the first dedicated environment-themed area to be created for the British Motor Show. Delegates will also enjoy a complementary VIP pass to the Motor Show (open until 9.00 p.m.).
